Black and White Wednesday - April 14, 2010

Wednesday already! Unbelievable! Where does time goes anyway? Today we "enjoy" the rain all day long! As farmers we are suppose to be VERY happy for the moisture but as human beings rain is still kind of depressing! but I do know this is good! with lots of sun, things sure will start getting greener and greener and at the same time I will get happier and happier!

This last week, hubby was very excited about this huge log! Last fall we had to cut one of our big poplars to make room in the yard for the semis when they come to pick up our grain, so he kept the log and then last week he took it to mill where they made a few boards out of it, hubby was so intrigued by the whole process and happy for the lumber that he will soon be using to make some repairs in the barn! so before he took it to the mill he asked me to take a picture of it, but I didn't wanted to just take a picture of the log, so I asked my daughter to poss for me and the whole thing ended up being quite a photo shoot! LOL!! At the end I said to hubby I was sad to see the log go, because I thought it made a great photo prop! So any way, here is one of my favourites ones from the session! I will publish some more later on!

Happy Wednesday everyone! And don't forget to the check "The Long Road to China" for more black and whites!

Great choice to put your daughter in front of the log. I like it too.

I always love your photos.

You're right - it does make a great prop. Extra great in b&w. Too bad you couldn't keep it but show us what it ended up as though.

Soon all that rain will make everything lush and green. Ahh.....spring!

I've had a rather rough day and I finally sat down to take a break for a minute and I stumble on this beautiful picture and story to go with it. I would love that log too. Then I started listening to your music..."Your glory found upon a tree". And I sat here and listened and was refreshed. Thank you.

Thanks for the comment on I Heart Faces. I did use two actions. 1st was the Eye Doctor by MCP and the other was Baby Powder Room by Coffee Shop. Coffee Shop has a great tutorial on their blog for using Baby Powder Room.

Great prop, indeed...but with a face like that...that little girl doesn't need one single prop...she's stunning!

It is a great prop - but with the beautiful girl and gorgeous dog I wasn't really seeing it as a prop :) Beautiful photo.
