Black and White Wednesday - April 7, 2010

Another Black and White Wednesday at "The Long Road to China" For this week, I wanted to use one of the picutres from my last photo shoot, which was also a first for me! My very first maternity photo shoot! It was a great learning experience and I was quite pleased with the result and so was Karis, my pregnant model who is expecting twins! You can read more about it and see more of the pictures from the session in the post before this one!

What I like the most about this picture is the roundness of her tummy against the roundness of the rake, also the wall of our barn and way in the back, Savanah our curly horse! I am also loving the MCP Actions for this black and white conversion, this one is from "All in the details" package! Really good staff!

Have a great week everyone! And thanks for your visit and kind comments! See ya!!

Great shot. Yes, the round lines of her belly and the curve of the rake is wonderful.

Love it!

I agree with Wanda...
the repetition of the shape of her belly and the machinery is nice.
But.. I love the balanced look of peace and anticipation on her face.

I agree with the comments above mine as well. I love the conversion and the wood on the barn behind her.

Love the serenity in the moment.

Beautiful... I am also loving how the black and white is showing every detail. My eye is just drawn right to her face and then left to explore the rest. The horse is great too!

My first impression was the roundness of the rake & tummy (great composition!) but this photo has so much going for it. The b&w is just perfect as her top & hair blend with the background while her face and hand on her tummy really highlight the fact that she is thinking about the baby inside! and then there is the horse in the background that draws you to the world outside. Beautiful. Really fabulous capture!

The setting for this photo is so beautiful. I love the repeated circular shapes, but there is something about the promise of new life surrounded by the farm equipment, the fence, the horse, the outside, that makes this photo all the more a celebration of life.
